This year's race will be on foot, no carriages. That's right: Just as much fun without the jackasses!
Teams of 4 - 6 people will pursue clues through the French Quarter, testing their knowledge of all things Southern culture - music, art, literature and fashion - in this exhilarating, interactive scavenger hunt adventure. Then, in true New Orleans style, the evening rolls on into an after party while scores are tallied and prizes awarded, including the one for best costumes!
In the past, from the starting gun's craze to the Quarter's beignets, contestants found secret gardens and galleries, touched ghosts and tarots, got carts and body art, and serenaded our city while sipping its finest concoctions. Anything can happen this year!
WDSU's Randi Rousseau will be Grand Marshal, encouraging O-Mazing participants who will also be raising funds for a good cause: the Ogden Museum's Summer Art & Drama Camp Scholarship Fund. The money raised will help children who could not afford to go to camp, to be able to sing, dance and learn how to create sets.
Hosted by the Kohlmeyer Circle, a group of young arts and cultural enthusiasts who support the Museum, you don't want to miss this chance to test your knowledge in all things New Orleans—and win amazing prize packages, as well as give back to a worthy cause!
So, how do you participate?
• Teams of 4 to 6 are required. If you do not have a complete team, the Museum can place you with a team, space available.
• Participants must be 21 or older.
• Fee is $35 per person
